Today, after technical changes made by the Kentucky Senate, the Kentucky House of Representatives concurred 77-12 on House Bill 45. The measure now heads to Governor Beshear for his consideration.

HB 45 previously passed the State House 85-12 on February 12, and on March 11, the State Senate approved the legislation 29-6.

HB 45 is a commonsense bill that would ban foreign donors and entities from contributing to campaigns on ballot measures, such as legislatively referred constitutional amendments. This measure is needed after a foreign-funded group, the Sixteen Thirty Fund, spent almost $600,000 to defeat an amendment to protect life in Kentucky.
