Senate Judiciary Nomination Hearings Scheduled

The Senate Committee on the Judiciary will hold its first hearing on Monday, October 12th for the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the U.S. Supreme Court. Hearings are scheduled for 9:00 a.m. for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of next week.

President Trump announced his nomination to fill the seat vacated by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg on Saturday, September 26th. Judge Barrett currently serves on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, having been appointed in 2017. Previously she clerked for Justice Antonin Scalia and was a member of the Notre Dame Law School faculty and has worked in private practice. Judge Barrett is a Louisiana native.
