Newly Obtained Documents Reveal Far-Left Activist Groups Conducted Secret Training Session with the Biden Administration

Americans for Public Trust Obtained Energy Secretary Granholm’s Official Calendar Revealing She Attended Training Session

Through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, Americans for Public Trust obtained Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm’s official calendar, revealing left-wing activist groups such as the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) and Climate Power conducted secret internal training sessions on climate communication strategies for Biden Administration appointees in March 2021. Moreover, Granholm not only attended the training sessions but also delivered opening statements.

“Why are dark money groups, bankrolled by a foreign billionaire, training Energy Secretary Granholm on communication strategies? Instead of tackling issues that consumers care about – like lowering gas prices and being able to buy the kitchen appliance of their choice – Secretary Granholm continues to do the bidding of green energy extremists. This constant coordination is just another example of the tremendous influence dark money has on the Biden Administration,” said Caitlin Sutherland, Executive Director of Americans for Public Trust.

The calendar noted that the training sessions would include “political appointees from all climate-related agencies” with the purpose of LCV and Climate Power to spearhead training on messaging centered around climate work. The climate-related agencies included the Energy Department, Interior Department, Agriculture Department, and Commerce Department.

LCV and Climate Power have been direct beneficiaries from massive liberal dark money groups under the Arabella Advisors y umbrella. In 2021, LCV reported nearly $115 million in donations with the bulk of that funding being fueled by the Sixteen Thirty Fund, a key player in the Arabella Advisors network.

Additionally, Swiss billionaire, Hansjorg Wyss’ two dark money groups donated millions towards liberal green energy activist groups in recent years.

Climate Power is a project Fund for a Better Future, which received $44,468,000 from Wyss’s foundations between 2017 and 2020 LCV alone has funneled millions towards Climate Power. Climate Power’s advisory board includes Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry, former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, LCV chairwoman Carol Browner, billionaire liberal donor Tom Steyer, former White House Climate Advisor Gina McCarthy, and former UN Ambassador Samantha Power.

Climate Power has continued to actively push Green New Deal reforms and dole out large sums of money to various Democratic candidates, including $6.3 million to Democrats in the 2022 midterms alone.
