New emails confirm what individuals have long suspected--that despite the White House repeatedly saying they did not guide or approve school reopening guidance, they were involved in shaping the guidance

As part of APT’s ongoing lawsuit against the CDC, we just received 1,700 pages of new emails and documents. These emails confirm what individuals have long suspected–that despite the White House repeatedly saying they did not guide or approve school reopening guidance, they were involved in shaping the guidance.

In the days leading up to the guidance’s public release, an HHS official told colleagues they had “some homework assignments” after getting off a call with the White House, the latest emails show.

This email exchange shows the White House was concerned with issues teachers unions faced that were unrelated to public health experts’ determinations on school reopenings.
