New emails show teachers unions influenced last-minute CDC school guidance

Because of Americans for Public Trust’s ongoing lawsuit against the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more emails were just released that further reveal the coordination between the White House, the CDC, and teachers unions on COVID policy. These latest emails show the teachers unions influenced the CDC on last-minute changes to school-reopening guidance. Just one day before the guidance was released, the American Federation of Teachers’ Kelly Trautner emailed the CDC suggesting the insertion of line to the already finalized school guidance. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky forwarded on her message to make Trautner’s suggested change hours before the guidance was posted on-line.

The new emails also show CDC officials emailing and coordinating an early release of the school reopening guidance to the teachers unions.
