Montana Senate Committee Advances Foreign Funding Ban, Eligible for a Floor Vote

Today, the Montana Senate Judiciary Committee voted 5-3 to advanced House Bill 818, a bill to ban the foreign funding of ballot measures.

Today, the Montana Senate Judiciary Committee voted 5-3 to advanced House Bill 818, a bill to ban the foreign funding of ballot measures. HB 818 is now eligible for a vote on the Senate floor.

The vote comes after expert testimony provided by APT Executive Director Caitlin Sutherland warning of the millions in foreign-backed cash coming into the state’s ballot measure campaigns.
