After being charged with three felony counts of voter fraud related to the 2019 municipal elections in Kansas, Congressman Steve Watkins now faces an investigation by the House Ethics Committee.

Earlier this year, APT filed a complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics related to the allegations of voter fraud.

Under the Ethics Committee’s own rules, the panel must decide within 30 days of a member being indicted or charged with criminal conduct whether to establish a subcommittee to look into the charges or issue a report to the House explaining reasons for not investigating further.
